Digikam & Acer One Linpus (better than Picasa or Gimp)

I am a Linux newbie - and would like to install Digikam http://www.digikam.org/drupal/ on my Acer A110L

Who has experience with Digikam Linpus Setup ?

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install digikam
sudo apt-get install digikamplugins
sudo apt-get install kipi-plugins

Functioning of these commands in the Terminal ?
