For Users who have BIOS vo.3114, have you encountered that black screen of death?

  1. I did not encounter it, and I've made no revisions to my system's partitions.

I created this poll because I'm trying to do more research into this BIOS issue.

I don't understand why the poll is asking about the system partitions? it has nothing to do with that?
in any case, had it happen once, fixed using macles bios recovery method, and hasn't happened again.

I thought it happens mainly from editing the partition or from making a new one.

What really causes the error then?

I have the black screen of death but have not played with partitions. I just came online to find a solution.

    Pointless poll.
The system is hanging way before the partition table is read, you could unplug the hard drive and observe the same results.

you should just ask yes or no, and perhaps suggest people post the circumstances that led to the blank screen.

    Whatever. I suck.

Any way, I don't think these results sound good or healthy for Aspire One. I'm personally shaking whenever I''m using mine, although there have been no errors so far. Works great and the system does not hang, but I'm still scared.

macles magnificent blog saved my blank non-booting aspire one, along with many others, follow instructions carefully, you won't see anything on the screen until the bios reset is complete, so be patient (it takes a minute or two)

Yah, that thing is a lifesaver! my One wouldn't boot up anymore after shutting it down, and this bios-flashing-fix revived the One! *Bookmarked*
