Default BIOS PAssword

    Purchased a 2nd hand aspire one and seller claims he has never set a BIOS Password.

    Any ideas??

    That method although it appears to update the bios, waits for ~2 mins and reads flash drive it does not remove the BIOS password.

    Does removing the CMOS battery actually clear the password or just the settings?? I could not find any threads on this

    Thanks very much worked fine, took apart to fit new HD today and left the battery out for 10mins too which cleared the password
