Dead Space 2023 zeon and voices38 issues

I recently grabbed the kaos version of the original zeon v1 Dead Space then there was a link to the V2 crack. The game worked fine through the few chapters I played maybe 4-5. Then Voices38 came out with their own so called "PROPER" crack and that is was a disaster. Constant crashes with the voices38 crack including the so called "FIX" a day or so later.

They say the zeon v2 crack starts going haywire about ch 10, where the fix is to inflate your pagefile.sys to hundreds of gb. But the "proper" fix by voices38 would crash so much i stopped playing. Then after reading about the pagefile for the zeon crack I did two things that got the latest voices38 crack to be stable and work.
1. All settings to low, all. Now the game barely looks better then the original tbh, better textures is all.
2. pagefile to hundreds of gb.

Pretty disappointing that between the two of them still have to do these fixes. V38 released a buggy patch that doesn't work for a lot of people. I'm on win10 ltsc iot which has run any game I've thrown at it.

 

Side note after kaos moved from the zeon patch to the new V38 patch I then just decided to grab the steamrip version since thats when they first had it on SR. So the SR version is ONLY the v38 version. And I applied the dll and the full fixes on FGs site. Neither made any difference.

 

dlss OFF, low taa, couple steps below full 1080p, ncp limit FPS to 59, no vsync, all low settings, no special filters, etc

Again win10 LTSC IOT. 16gb ram, rtx 2060m, running it off an external HDD and it's fine even shader compilation takes only moments, turbo boost OFF plays fine, I don't do OC at all anymore on anything,

 

The game itself is just a refreshed version of the superior original which I was replaying after replaying 2 and 3. 2 is the best in the series most diverse best levels etc. 1 is the best horror experience. 3 I still love the eva space stuff still looks awesome.

Eh I guess it's good it finally got a free version with no EA launchers logins and such.

 

I did finish this and it's pretty good, nothing mind blowing like so many seem to think. The original game is still the better version imo besides the graphics and a couple of places where the challenges are ridiculous like the asteroids etc sections. But the new game also has some very obtuse puzzles that are WORSE then the original. The one I'm thinking of is the mirror alignment, which is much better in the original and does NOT bring the game to a screeching halt.

I can't see wanting to replay this version though, I was in an umpteenth replay of the original that I've not been back to in a while. 7gb vs 37gb. Any of the available cracks currently have problems and I've mentioned the fixes I had to do to get it to stop crashing every 5-10mins. Still if you get it stable it's a decent remake if nothing really worth the price or hype.
