My laptop is having some dead pixels. Do you know why this happened? Is this something that can still be fixed? Does it need repair or is it now for replacement? Thank you!

Although trying to use some software to restore struck pixels is an option the chances of that succeeding are very slim, more often than not there is no solution for your dead pixels beyond changing your whole display because, as far as I know, there is no way to solve individual pixeles problems and this is a hardware problem, no amount of software will solve that, get ready for your whole display to be changed. This will not be cheap so really consider if it is worth it to change the whole display of your laptop for a few dead pixels.

When you say dead pixels, do you mean the non-functioning portion of the screen? Our home computer has 1 horizontal line which is clearly a dead pixel group. After some months, there are now 2 horizontal lines. I am suggesting that we buy a new monitor but it would not be practical now since we are considering to buy a laptop for replacement of our home computer.

With your dead pixel, you need to change the monitor.

With your dead pixels getting worse, you will need to change the monitor at some time.
