    Hi,
    My Sony Vaio is dead.
It picked up a virus , despite my having paid for AVG protection,
I was in the process of rebooting so I could use system restore in safe mode to get rid of this pest
when suddenly the laptop died on me !
Nothing now , no lights, nothing, even the cd drawer will not open. I would like to restore it to the manufacturers default settings.
Is this a major (expensive) failure, or is there a simple solution? I could open -up the case if I had a clue what to look for.
    Bryan.

What I suggest is to verify your adapter has the right voltage.
