My new D150 came with a 1GB stick in the only slot under the removable cover. BIOS indicates a total of 1GB.

Is the 10" different than the 8.9"that has 512MB on the MB?

If the 10" is that different from the 8.9", what are the memory upgrade options and what type memory should I be hunting for to rise above the 1GB that came with it?

Actually it wasn't answered 2 posts below which is why I asked it again.

None the less I have confirmed that a 2GB DDR2 667 SODIMM works like a champ and system recognizes all 2GB.

so has anyone tried using a 4gb stick or just confirmed that a 2gb is recognized? Also, since fsb is only 533, would one be able to use a 533 so-dimm instead of the 667 that is included or so popular? Just doesn't make sense to have a 667 chip when it's running 533...unless of course with the case of a stick I borrowed to test that the timings are quite a bit better than a regular 533 at the same speeds.

2 Gb is the limit of the chipset. 4 Gb will almost definitely result in a BSOD.

667 is apparently the most popular speed for new comps, and is usually the same price as 533, if not actually cheaper.(source: Amazon.com)

Plus, if your computer died and you wanted to swap it into one that took 667 or higher, you'd be set. Pretty sure the speed difference between the two will not make a noticeable difference, whichever way it goes.

I just replaced the 1GB dimm with a Transcend 2GB 667 dimm I bought from newegg.com for $21 shipped. The computer recognizes 2GB of ram now.

One thing of note, be careful when you're removing the existing ram. I broke one of the little arms which hold the dimm in place. I managed to get the new one it, but its not fitting flush with the mb as it was before. Works though.
