I just got an an Aspire One, and am finding that the Windows shortcut Ctrl-F4 doesn't produce any results. It should close any open document window like it does on any Windows computer I've ever used. Any idea how to fix this?

    Thank you--

Alt-F4 closes the app entirely. Ctrl-F4 just closes the current window. For example, if you have several spreadsheets open in Excel, ctrl-F4 closes just the one that is currently active. Alt-F4 closes Excel entirely.

    So . . . I'm still looking for an answer. :)

    try ctrl-w

not sure why ctrl-f4 doesn't work for you, it seems to work for me. i no longer use it though, as ctrl-w is much more convenient to do with one hand.

Thanks, yes, I learned about ctrl-w yesterday, and it's a good workaround. It's just hard to teach an old dog new tricks--I've been using ctrl-F4 since Win 3.1!

I dread the thought of calling tech support!
