CPU Upgrade [Acer M3201]

    Hi I want to upgrade my CPU from my current AMD Phenom 9150e 1.8GHz Quad Core

    To AMD Phenom II X4 850 Sk AM3 3.3Ghz

    I've updated my BIOS to the latest here is a CPU-Z picture

    And my current CPU is AM2+ and I believe AM3 cpus support AM2+ right?

    Today i tried an AMD Phenom 960T but I got a mismatch error this maybe due to the fact that the CPU can support 6 Cores and my motherboard cant..

    Hi, AM2+ motherboards only support certain AM3 CPU's. You will need to check out the motherboard manufacturers website for a CPU support list. My Gigabyte AM2+ board is currently running a Phenom 9750 Quad Core black edition, but there aren't too many AM3 CPU's I can go and install in it's place.
