Hope it's not one of those cards which works only in MSI laptops... Long time ago we had thread about this in this forum...

I bought this card and can confirm it does work.

Drivers were a bit fiddly as the ones that come on the CD don't work with SP3 but the seller provided me with a link to download the latest drivers.

Wifi is 54g and the LED is off, and flashes when data is being transmitted (instead of the stock atheros which stays on but flashed when data is being transmitted)

I've got a BT mouse connected and works like a charm. Best addition I've made IMO - saves having a BT dongle sticking out the side of my laptop.

    A few questions...
What's the model number of the card?
Do you have a link to the seller?
    How much was the card?
Do you know what kind of range you are getting?
Were you able to drive a bluetooth stereo headset under Windows XP SP3?
Are there Mac drivers for this card?

    Thanks

Obviously you did not change any of the aerials etc. I understand this card works with drivers given by seller w/o any problems. I would like to believe it's worth trying as it's another external part less in my AA1 set...

Any chance this would work with Linpus?

Nope. There are 2 aerials on the Atheros card - you just unplug these and they clip straight onto this card.

are there tools to measure range or is it really a case of walking away from my router until I lose the signal?

I've copied the spec from the sellers description if it helps:-

I've just installed one. No problem installing drivers under my XP PRo SP3. Bluetooth software was BlueSoliel VoIP version as if they are trying to push using headsets via bluetooth.

I am trying to find that bluetooth card you mentioned in the earlier post and haven't been able to find it. Where is a good source? Also, I don't have the Acer yet, but I am looking at getting a model ZG5 from someone over here for 150 dollars. Will this bluetooth card work on this one? Another number on it is AOA 150-1555. It is running XP home (not sure which service pack, just checking it out right now). I would really like to get one of these, but Bluetooth is something I really want. I don't wanna sacrifice a USB port to use a dongle. I guess my questions are 1)is this a good deal for this model, 2) if yes, can I use this Bluetooth card with it, and 3) where can I get this card. Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
    Thank you,
    Tony

I got mine from eBay. I've just had a quick look around and found this one:-
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-in-1-Wireless-M ... 1|294%3A50

I'm sure there are more on there.

As far as I'm aware all AAO's have mini PCI Express wifi cards so yes, this will work as long as you are running XP. This card currently doesn't work under windows 7 as drivers are not available yet.

I want to get rid of this flaky WiFi card, get one that is OS-X compatible, and add Bluetooth. It would be really nice if this could kill all three birds with one stone. Any idea if this supports OS-X or if OS-X includes drivers for it? What chipset does it use?

Just ordered my card the other day. 27 dollars with free shipping. Unfortunately they won't ship to an APO address :x so I have to get it sent to a friend and he will send it over. Oh well, it is all about sacrifice. :D

    Hello everyone.

I ordered a card off EBay from a reputable seller, battery_source. Received it in 4 days. I just finished the installation and it works great.

One word of caution. The Bluesoleil software that was included in my package was only the trial version. Perhaps other sellers may include the full 6.4.269.0 Version (which is the latest version).

The trial version is only good for up to 5mb.

I purchased the full version from www.bluesoleil.com for $28.70.

Now it's running like a Swiss watch. I highly recommend this hardware upgrade. It beats using up a USB port with an unattractive BT dongle.

If you download the latest drivers from their site you get a full version of bluesoleil (2.0.7.13) which works like a charm.

Glad to see other people having success with this card.

Don't think this will work with os-x though
