Hey, I figured it would be easier if we started to consolidate certain accessories into one thread. Post up what cases you have found that would carry the AAO well.

    Suggested format:
    Name: [Product Nomenclature]
Price: [Price in US Dollars, Euros, etc.]
Location: [Link to a site that sells this product]
Thoughts: [If you have bought it, how well does it work out. If you have not bought it, your reasons for suggesting the product]
    Pictures: [Pictures]

Here are some more threads that discuss cases and sleeves, etc (I started this one to get an organized thread going):

What are you carrying your AA1 in? viewtopic.php?f=15&t=681

Case Logic 7-9" Portable DVD Player

I went through the boards a bit and found these other cases. I'll post them here to allow for more consolidation.

    Re: Case Logic 10" Laptop

I have that case. It's the DNEO-10. I found it to be too big for my 3-cell, but it might be a good fit for the 6-cell. As it is, the 3-cell slides around too much for my tastes.

The XDS-9 sleeve is a perfect fit for the AA1.

For a bag, Timbuk2's Small Classic Messenger is great. The internal zippered pocket fits the AA1 perfectly. Plenty of room for accessories while not becoming bulky. It also has the benefit of not looking like a laptop bag. Highly recommended.

Note the Timbuk2 T-Pack will most likely not be big enough for the 6-cell AA1.

Name: Tucano Second Skin - Easy PC (for 7" to 9")
    Price: £13.99

Thoughts: Although it's not terribly stylish, it does a good job of protecting my Aspire One. Provides a good fit and the zip is sewn around half the case so it fits quite snug. In the absence of anything else in the shops in the way of a laptop sleeve it will do for now...until something nicer comes along! It comes in pale blue, pale pink, grey and black (although my local store only had pink and blue in stock).

I've been looking at a neoprene case for mine. I like these, very simple but cool. No room for any cables or cords though.
Acer Aspire One Neoprene Laptop Bag
    About $20 USD shipped

Available in a red/black or pink/blue. They are reversible so you can use either color at your whim. Nowhere to store your cables/accessories, but if you want to run a tight ship, they might fit the bill.

Name: SF Bags / Waterfield Designs SleeveCase; Size 20-13
    Price: $65 w/flap, D rings and handle
    Location: http://www.sfbags.com
Thoughts: It's a little more expensive than mass produced cases, but but the fit and finish of these sleeves are top notch. My AA1 slides in smoothly and fits like a glove. I went with the flap so I could use this as a stand alone case. I also got it the D rings and a handle that attaches/detaches easily.

Can you see if the AAO will fit WITH the 6-cell battery. I am just about to order one of Waterfield's Combo's but was afraid the size 20-13 sleeve wouldn't fit the bigger battery.

Btw. - Waterfield's bags look so nice !

Hi. I don't have a six cell battery yet, but from the description it would be pretty tight. There's about a half inch of free space with the 3 cell battery so it might be about 1/2 too short. The flap will still close fine as there is plenty of Velcro on the sleeve. You might want to send them a message as they may have a different sleeve available for an AA1 with the six cell battery. Also if you want to get a handle, rather than a strap, let them know as it's not listed as an option. However, it's really nice, with the same clips as the strap and the mt. bike grip that's available on the Racer-X case.

I also bought a sleeve for my Samsung Q1 UP, a piggyback and cargo back for my laptop. These things are designed so well, I'm sure you'll be happy with them.

I'll be getting the 160GB version next week, hopefully. I want something cute looking, and found these sleeves.

    http://www.acmemade.com/sleeves.html

Do you think it will fit in their 'netbook' size?

    External
    9.75" x 7.75" x 2"
    Internal
    9.5" x 7" x 1"

I also found this site that makes custom made sleeves.

With only 1" inside for depth, there's no way the AAO will fit in it unless it's stretchy. And they are a tiny bit too short on the width as well it appears.

    The 3cell unit is 9.8" x 6.7" x 1.14" and the 6cell unit is 9.8" x 6.7" x 1.42"

thanks for those measurements. So that's including the battery, right?

I'm now considering a sleeve from Isis Dey. They make the following 3 designs in the 7-9" size (you had to click 'purchase' to actually see that that size is available), and in emailing back and forth with them, they said, "The exact dimensions are hard to say because te material is stretchy. I measured it and it's about 9" x 7 1/2"."

This is what I'm using. I usually stuff it in an old backpack I had leftover from school. The sleeve gives good protection and the backpack gives me enough room to carry my external hard drive, MP3 player, AC battery pack, and all the cords.

That Dell bag looks pretty cool though. Any room for cables in that thing?

coolshop, that's the dimensions off the Acer site. I assume it's right on, I've not measured mine to make sure.

Actually, Acer's online specs have an error. The depth is 195mm for the 6-cell models and 170mm for the 3-cell models. So, that should equate to about 7.7" for the 6 cell, which is an inch deeper than the 3 cell.
