According to Acer, it's the "Aspire one" not the "Aspire One". I do not know the reason for this, but the o is supposed to be lower case. Still, most people from the wiki editors to the retailors to the forum admins seem to be ignoring this.

Second I hate typing Aspire One or even Aspire one all the time, but I'm not sure which of aa1, AA1, AAO, aao etc is going to be most easily recognized. Can we settle on just "one".. uh, I mean 1.. of them?

    Input wanted...

For me "One" is where it's at.

This is incorrect, if you visit the Acer site http://www.acer.com/aspireone/
The actual usage (in two locations) on the front page is "Aspire One" and "Acer" is not "Acer", it is "acer".

The graphics on the machine itself are "acer" and "ASPIREone".

The label on the back shows "acer" and "Aspire one series".

Does this mean we should use aAo ?

Yup yup .. Aspire One it is. Sorry about that. Some Acer reps were apparently saying it was supposed to be "one" rather than "One", but
I'll take the homepage as final arbiter. For the record, I like the capitalized One better too.

So is everyone cool with "A1"? Though just "One" would be OK too. As in "I did (not) get my One today...".

Same here. Whenever I talk about my machine, I call it "the One" or "my One".

Whenever I talk about the machine, I find it very hard to capitalize the spoken word.

Personally, I'm a fan of using "A1" as the abbreviation. Short, sweet, and makes me think of steak.

And A1 makes me think of a long (409 miles), boring lump of tarmac, punctuated by a few roundabouts.

For the folks in the US "the A1" is a long section of "pavement" that has numerous circular intersections,

Nothing like my acer Aspire One.

Doesn't pretty much anything work, so long as everyone knows what you're talking about? lol

Maybe you need to read more Pratchett? ;)

Mine is mostly called "lappy" out aloud, but variously A1, AA1 and One, when writing and dependent on context.

    IT'S THAT IMPORTANT :D

I was under the assumption we had settled on AAO personally but you know whatever.

I always liked "the One". AA1 sounds rather bland like it might be a washing machine ("it gets your whites whiter than white").

I wonder how Acer staff (particularly the people who actually designed it) refer to it.
