Can't play divx movies online

Hi, I am not very good on computers so not sure how to solve this problem. When I am trying to play movies I get sound but no picture, just a gray screen which says in the top right coner mplayer plugin embedded video player for mozilla buffering % - kb (this changes to the file location when you press play. I am not sure what to do now and would really appreciate any help. Thanks, Paul.
