I cant open the networkcenter in settings. when i click on it the network center won't open. the network on the icon tray is also lost.
Someone can help me with this problem? I need to to get back the network proces. I tried everything to restart the network proces but it doesnt work.

Run it from a terminal? (Alt+F2 and 'terminal', maybe preceeded by 'sudo' to have admin rights)
... you can also run gnome-session I think. brb with how to load it.

I found "gnome-session" from the > System > Add/Remove software [Linpus advanced desktop only]
But I don't want to install it on my Aspire One (as it includes Gnome-Desktop as dependencies).

You can give it a try, it should give you full control on startup processes and put back the Network-Manager?

At the command line try this:
    Code:
    sudo /etc/init.d/NetworkManager start
    sudo /etc/init.d/NetworkManagerDispatcher start

But this is only temporary, if the services are truly disabled, the next time you restart they'll be gone again. How exactly did you terminate them in the first place?

I had the same problem, but it was caused by corruption of the file system, the system hanged. I had to use the recovery disc.

This is really annoying, happened to me as soon as I took it out the box.

Update: Now fixed by re-installing using the recovery disc

You can look at "/home/user/.config/xfce4/desktop/group-app.xml" which script will be executed, when you click onto the NetworkCenter Icon (it is an file with ".desktop" extension which you will find in the directory "/usr/share/applications").
If you look into this script you kann see behind the "exec " key which program will be executed.

For that at best you open a "terminal" with "ALT-F2" and type in "terminal". Within this terminal you should switch to user "root" by typing "sudo -s".
You can display the files e.g with "more /home/user/.config/xfce4/desktop/group-app.xml" or open a edit like "mousepad /home/user/.config/xfce4/desktop/group-app.xml".

Try to start this program manually from the terminal, maybe you get an error message then which will be helpfull the solve your problem.
