Hi, first of all control your internet connection. If you are connected to internet but you cannot be able to retrieve repository metadata, I suppose you are behind a proxy.

So if you are behind a proxy you have to install ntlmaps and configure it with your proxy domain/username and password.

you can download ntlmaps from it's official site: http://ntlmaps.sourceforge.net/

after download and extract it, you have to modify the server.cfg file.
ok, now you have to start ntlmaps typing from console (you must be root):
    Code:
     python main.py
Now open a new console and type:
    Code:
     export http_proxy="localhost:5865"
    type in console:
    Code:
    system-config-packages
well... now I suppose that it would work propertly.

Hope that this could help you.

Hi, the server.cfg file is inside the folder of ntlmaps (the software that you have to download and extract).
So if you have downloaded it into Downloads folder, after you have extracted the archive (tar.gz file) you'll find it there ( /home/user/Downloads/ntlmaps ).

If you have any problems, contact me.

Hi, I have a similar problem.

My firefox is running well, that I can browse to any website.

But, my aspire one mail and messenger never able to connect to internet, always shows connection problem, failed, etc
So do, I also get this "Can not retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml)" error.

Looks like the Linux has block internet connection to all software except the firefox and live update on my AA1

Already try your step by step, but still can not, any idea?
    Thanks.
