Can you buy a laptop in PC world ?

Hi,
Can you buy a laptop in PC world/Currys/Comet these days and take it away?.....when i last tried to do it, everything in the shop was a display model....they said you had to order a laptop online, then come in and pick it up at a later date.

So can i buy a laptop inside PC world/Currys/Comet, or do i have to order it online?
