Ok. I have read all I can find and still am not sure if I can install OSX on my USB external HDD. I have formated the HDD and it is bootable into DOS but not sure what to do after that. I have the Kalyway DVD and a USB DVD reader attached. My Acer One is running windows and I do not want to remove it from the internal HDD but would like to be able to run OSX. Can I add a second partition to the external HDD and format it to take OSX and leave the DOS partition or am I going about this the wrong way?

    Yes You can!

Idid it with iAtkos via USB-Stick
Have a look at "Installing/Booting Another OS" by SbM
I did a minor modification installing the kexts: Audio an Shutdown - I used the method poposed by denshaotoko808 on oct 26.

Runs a lot better with OsX than with XP. If you don't really need XP, why not installing on the internal HD.
You need dell dw 1390 for wireless working under OsX
