I waited for 20 minutes the first time and for 30 minutes the second...
    It's too short?

I've tried also to change usb key and the bat file (I opend it and changed the name with the name they told me...)

bios recovery takes about a minute or so, not longer.

Re: BLACK screen after Bios updating

I can't understand why for some persons that works and for me it continues to blink forever!

I copied and renamed the files into the USB stick 1gb formatted with fat16

than I did the combination of FN+ESC then I pushed the power button

    it start to blink

I push another time the power button but nothing changes and it continues to blink for 20 minutes...

I tryed with the 3305 bios and with 3304 but nothing!
I have to copy and modify also the BAT file?

who can help me? I'm going crazy and I want to cry!

    oink!

    I had the same problem...BUT !!!

    I found something usefull =)

    Acer Aspire One BIOS Recovery
The AA1 has a built-in BIOS recovery routine, making it possible to flash the BIOS even if the system doesn't boot anymore. It's only meant for emergencies and may void your warranty, so use at your own risk.

    Follow every step carefully!

First format an USB stick with FAT.

1)Download the latest BIOS, and put both FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file in the root directory of the stick.
2)Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD, that's important. Do not remove the USB stick.
3)Turn the AA1 off, make sure both battery and AC adapter are connected.
4)Press Fn+Esc, keep it pressed and press the power button to turn the AA1 on.
5)Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds, the power button will be blinking.
6)Press the power button once. The AA1 will now initiate the BIOS flash, do not interrupt it under any circumstances. After a while the power button will stop blinking, and the AA1 will reboot shortly after. Wait patiently.

The BIOS has been flashed and all settings reset to default.

If for some reason you made a mistake during the procedure and it doesn't reboot by itself wait 5 minutes before turning it off, just to be safe that it isn't still flashing the BIOS.

    HOPE it will HELP YOU
    =)

Thanks for this was just getting ready to take my aspire a150 back to shop and face the music. I saw this post and thought i'd give it ago followed instructions exactly renamed 3114 bios to ZG5IA32 and waited . Now i have my aspire back working. Great stuff thanks

only thing i never had to do was press power button to initiate it .I just put usb card in slot and held fn and esc while i turned on machine as soon as i let go of the two keys the card started to flash as though it was being read. Also i formatted the card to fat 32

Just wanted to say thanks, this worked a treat. I got the "Black Screen of Death" after removing the boot password.
Followed the procedure to the letter , and it worked first time.
    :p :p :p :p
