bios password

    Totally new to Acer and Linux, and learning as fast as.....

    HOwever, I want to overide the software I have been given with my machine by installing Ubuntu 8.10.
    When I select F2 on bootup, it asks me for a BIOS password, which I have not set. Can I reach the doc that has the password set, using my trerminal?
