Biology tools

    Any molecular biologist/bioinfortaticists on the boards? I'm having some difficulty installing some allignment tools such as clustal on the AA1 and was wondering if anyone has had any success with this.

    Are you trying to install the GUI version or just the command line one? Isn't installation just a case of unpacking the distrution in a handy directory and running the executable? Are you getting error messages?

    yep, I got clustalw installed. A routine hand-compilation, if you've decently loaded up your aspire one with the standard compilation and development tools.

    even got pymol working, though it's a little jumpy and slow. If you want more help please post error reports, specific details, etc.
