A couple videos I've seen show battery that sticks out a good .5-1" from the back. Lots of pictures show a battery flush with the machine. Is the sticking out battery just the 5800mah maybe, or both the 5800 and the smaller capacity? Are the pictures on amazon for the six cell really an alternate 3 cell model not for sale and that's why it's flush to te machine?

To me...that makes a big difference on my purchase...so would be good to know.

    The 9-cell is not for the D150, it's for the 8.9" aspire one. IMHO, I don't think it's comparable until a D150 9-cell arrives.

The battery pack is interchangable between both models.

FYI, Newegg is still shipping 5800mAh batteries with the 10" One. My RMA replacement that I just got came with one.

It looks like if we get a bigger battery or at least a 9 cell we may be wise to get the charger that may work best with it since this website details the charger that they offer with a 9 cell has different output specs then the original charger for the 3 cell battery.

I came a across this pic of a 6 cell installed

Just to confirm that the batteries are interchangeable...
Wife's 8.9" with 5800mAh 6 cell on left and my 10.1" with 2200mAh 3 cell on the right.

Don't know why the pictures are cut off on the right, but you get the idea.

Oh my...with the amount they stick out...does anyone know who sells good quality ones at a good price? "not ebay related since I don't do ebay" Also I would prefer to get a OEM one since it may be hard to prove the non OEM's have good quality batteries in them.

    dragion,

About how long does the 10" get with a fully charged 3 cell on it?

I never calculated an actual time, but it seems to be the same amount as with the 8.9"...just over 2hrs with max battery setting.

That's what I'd like to know. I read many reviews claiming that some D150s have a 4400mAh battery that fits flush with the system. Either lots of people made the same mistake, or there is actually such a battery.
