    Hi. First Post.
After installing 1GB of ram on my aspire one, everything seemed fine. I booted okay, the ram checked out, and there were no problems whatsoever.

    However...

I noticed that the battery indicator (battery with a lightning bolt) does not light up at all, no matter what happens. AC plugged in or not.

Could I have accidentally turned it off during the disassemble? I don't know where to start looking.
I'm just looking for some ideas before it apart again.

I know its not that big of a deal but i would like to know that its charging when its plugged in and the laptop is off.

    Thanks everyone.

Edit: Sorry. I realized i posted in the wrong forum!

Did you use force to place the mobo back in and ripped the LED off from the mobo ?
It does stick off from the side of the mobo.

First look if there are still metal traces on the Mobo the pads that the LED came off from. If its still shiny Lead or metal surface you can resolder a new LED. Now if there is a Pinkish redish PCB spot there, then you will have a hard time since you ripped off the solder pads from the mobo.

LED wise i dunno which they are. But ebay used to sell alot of LEDs, I been trying to figure out where i can get Dual stage SM-LED with Blue and Red so i can turn them all into blue and Blue Purple (when both are on at same time)

PS you also ripped of the more exp LED since its the Dual color one i think the one that can go Red Green and Amber so called.

try SMT SMD SM LED with Angled 90 Degree. Something along the lines i seen some sites but they require Bulk order.

if you zoom in on the image of the title image, (CTRL and +) it looks like the same led used for the aspire one indicator LEDs. I just need to figure out how i would about removing the old LED base and then soldering the new base and LED.

ipearl, you have been the most helpful.

What i also wanted to know was you said the specifications seems right. The led is bi-color. Would it act the same as the original bi-color led? (i.e. Amber when charging, Green when done.)

Thats depending on the voltage table, if its matches.
I don't know the exact specs of the original bulbs.
But it should get the same colors.
If its different one, the worse that can happen it's little more red or more green.
Since its actually Red and green. Mixing red and green = amber/orangeish (On the light spectrum)

PS: Make sure you turn the LEDs the right way. They go on in a certain direction, indicated by an arrow, dot or T.

Should be Fine. Aslong its a thin pointy tip. With a steady hand.
Make sure not to get to near the plastic lense.
And keep in mind not to stick the tip onto the solder longer than needed.

Certainly Looks like teh Orignal one.
-+15% Give you lots of headroom for different Current needed.

Make sure you solder C2 for the Green/Red els it will only light up one color.
    And you be just fine.

I really have basic electronics knowledge, what exactly do you mean by soldering C2? What i figured i was going to do was remove the old base by heating up the old solder on the sides of the old base.
Replace with new LED, making sure its facing the same way, by reheating the existing solder and then letting cool.
