I can not get the battery icon to show up in the taskbar (with the clock). I have the box checked in the power options properties' Advanced tab from the control panel that says it should always appear on the taskbar. I also do not see the AC power icon when I'm plugged in. Any suggestions to make them appear? Thanks.

Rightclick on the taskbar, and select properties.
Then either remove the tickmark from "hide inactive icons", or use the adjustment facilites so the power/battery icon never gets hidden.
