Audio problem, turning on off...

    Recently installed XP Pro on my One, CF-card mod and 1gig ram. Drivers are installed in proper order and I have sound, the only issue is, the sound is like lagging behind. It won't keep a konstant sound stream on. Sound goes on and off just about every 0.5sec. Sometimes I will have sustained sound for a couple of seconds, but then it dies away on comes back on again. Utterly annoying, any iéas what might be wrong?
