I was away from my computer for less than two minutes, and when I came back the screen was black...

I kit the enter key, nothing happened. The power button light was green. I held the power button until it shut off, and then boot it back up.

    Same thing.

The light is green, but the other lights on top left don't show anything...

The hard drive light doesn't show, I'm thinking it crashed...

    Should I call Acer?

I clicked that link and it said BIOS upgrade...

My ASO got back today with a note from Acer, they upgraded the BIOS and it works flawlessly now.

Good luck, if your under warranty, I suggest you send it back, turn around was quick, about a week from when they got it.

Yeah, i ended up sending it in because I didn't have a bootable USB, only an external160G HDD. It was quick, and they even replaced my keyboard and panel for free! Since then, it's been working great, and all data was intact.

Mine's going back too after it appears to be completely dead. Just concerned thouhg as I have Ubuntu and Win 7 beta installed (removed the extra memory!) Will they say the other OS's void warranty?

    thanks

possibly...but only if they bother checking for that...they'll probably just flash the BIOS first thing, as it appears this is a known and common issue with the AAO.

They use a Crisis disk on a USB stick, then upgrade your bios to 3309 (its the latest).

You might want to tell us what you want fixed ?

If it will not boot, then sure try macles bios recovery from a USB key.
