Aspire One mail problem

    I have a new Aspire One running Linpus Linux. I have run the Live Update function, all OK.

    However, I cannot get any email account to work on One Mail. I have a number of different accounts and have setup their parameters (incoming, outgoing servers, authentication etc) exactly the same as in Outlook on my Windows desktop computer (where they all work OK) but every one fails with a "server unreachable" message.

    Also a problem with Package Manager which cannot retrieve software information, error message is "cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for.....).

    Could these be related?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    I have exactly the same problem which I can not overcome at the moment my ISP is onetel/talktalk which do not appear to be compatible with the acer mail box.
