Hi, I also got the black screen on powering my netbook.
The power led lights green the fan starts for 5sec and then stops.
I found many webpages with instructions on how to flash the BIOS for the A150 but none about the D150.
Is there a similar procedure for the D150 netbook?

    Thanks

The procedure is the same you just need to make sure you download the bios for the D150 and no other. I just had that same problem on my D150 and re flashing the bios to 1.11 solved my problem.

Thanks, I tried it but it didn't seem to read from the usb stick (formated with FAT). Maybe I have to try with another one.

Did you set your bios to use the USB device as the first boot option?

I tried 3 different usb sticks
I can't seem to start the flashing sequence.
The power led does not blink whatever I tried, it just lights green

    UPDATE:
Solved for me. The bios trick diden't work first time cause i dident rename the bios file.

Im having same problem. Blank screen, fan seems to whir up and down. Acer is AOA 150. Downloaded 3309 bios. Formated USB to FAT, then FN ESC. etc.

What happens, is power flashes, then Usb flashes a bit, then stops, then flashes a bit again, then stops, then power light goes solid, and fan starts hunting again.

Was wondering did you solve your problem ?

Could a failed IDE drive, prevent the bios from starting by chance?

    Any other suggestions welcome.

    Cheers.

What was the correct filename of the bios.
In the USB stick you had only the bios file or other files too?
