Installed wireless mouse with usb autodetect. After laptop recognized the mouse, applications I clicked on would hang up. Should I disable the touch pad. Eveything works fine with touch pad with the wireless mouse installed but using the mouse to select a program hangs it up.

    Make sense?

Sometimes USB automatic IRQ assignments can go wrong.

You have nothing to loose in uninstalling each usb program at one time, in the device manager.
    Then restarting your machine.

To do so from the start button type device, then choose device manager, scroll down to the mouse settings right click on each item then choose uninstall.

Usually your computer will reasign new protocols upon rebooting.
