Okay, I've known this for awhile and I'm sure many others of you do too.
But I want to inform those that don't.
And maybe refresh those that due.
There is a sweet mod for the Aspire One by Tnkgrl.
It's a procedure to add the absent Mini-pcie port to the One's that don't have a 3G port.
So if you are good at precision soldering and want to make use of that apparently useless panel, This is for you.

Once you have the AAO open and see how close those PCI-E connector solder pads are... This mod becomes very scary.

There is a WiMax card which could be used in place of the WiFi, or even installing a 3G card in place of the WiFi is a better option for me. I know my limits with a soldering iron...

The easies way I figured, was getting a USB 3G card. The Option Icon 225 gets small enough after modification to fit the "3G bay".

It has an external antenna contact, and gives you the possibility to add an aerial at the back of your LCD.

Use the extra USB port under the harddrive, and connect a switch or use the 5v source on the MB to turn off the power in standby, as it drains the battery in less than 30 hours....
