I am a digital nomad and I am planning to use an Aspire One with Linux when I don't have the space / inclination to lug around a full size laptop running Windows.

I think Acer and Asus are eating Dell's lunch! On a side note, Dell used to be about value and low-prices, but recently they seem to have slipped away from that. Consequently their sales are suffering.

Don't nomads move a lot. I would say I'm a digital couch potato. The reason to get a netbook for me is because large laptops are hot and heavy for actual lap use and desktops look awful on the coffee table.
