I'm trying to set up a network for a friend who just bought an AOD255E from Staples and wants it to work wirelessly in her home. Not sure if we have the right components, so I thought to check here first before we start opening boxes. So far we have the netbook operating. We have a Cisco WRT120N router and will be getting the modem provided by Netzero. She has signed up for Netzero's DSL plan. They did send cds and I'm sure there is one included with the router and maybe the modem, but of course I have no cd drive in the netbook. Can I copy needed files onto a thumb drive, using a desktop at work, or are these files necessary to get online? Are we going to be forced to buy an external cd drive? Will this combination of router, modem, netbook, and provider work at all? Any help appreciated on where to start.
