    Hi,

I did my toshiba u400 and eeepc 1000H dual booting with Mac OS X 10.6.x and Windows XP. Unfortunately, I don't have these machines already. The 2 machine were stolen 2 weeks ago (bulglar). I bought AO 751 as replacement for time being until I could afford a better laptop.
    .
After reading the forum about installing Mac OS X in A0 751h using NetbookCD and NetbookInstaller. It seems that there is no way that we can dual boot using the current method - GUID partition.

I did myhack install (http://osx86.sojugarden.com/installer/) on my toshiba u400 using my eeepc 1000H running 10.5.8. My objective is to do this in AAO 751.

I will be using this guide below (myhack - the MBR way)

    SOLUTION
    ###################################################################################################################
NOTE: Please see the 3rd posting below for the OSinstall.mpkg from myhack for details.

    SKIP Reading this below
    ###################################################################################################################

    http://www.hackint0sh.org/f217/89878-2.htm

The only problem now is to find a machine that runs Mac OS X to prepare the usb stick myHack Installer.

The other method is to install Mac OS X using GUID partition first. Using this guide.
    viewtopic.php?f=14&t=19536

No Mac OS X machine needed install
    http://osx.mechdrew.com/guides/nbi3.shtml
Just use sata to usb converter for external HD. We really need 2 HD ( 1 internal HD and 1 external HD).

And use this pre optimised machine to create the myhack installer with all the drivers for AAO 751h.

The destroy pre optimise OS X HD by restoring the backup AO 751 DVD's, partition the HD using pmagic (linux usb or live CD) and then install again the Mac OS X using mymack - mbr method.

    I think this is doable.

I think this guide above will help you as well dual boot your machine.

BTW, I did triple booting with Toshiba u400 - XP, Snow Leopard and Ubuntu 9.10. I am planning to do this as well in my AAO 751 - 500Gb Hitachi 7200 rpm HD with 2 Gb Ram now.

I have done this part already.

I changed the passwd after installing into usb external HD.

    boot with
    -s

    then

    /sbin/fsck -fy
    /sbin/mount -uw /

    passwrd root

    ******* Enter
    ******* Enter

    touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone

Now, my question is: since this machine is not supported in netbook installation, Any suggestion what to do next?

I guess I don't need to install the bootloader since I am going to destroy this installation anyway. I am just wonder what people do if they want to keep this installation.

Now, the kexts for the hardware:
    1,Internal HD - AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext
    2. Sound - Realtek - VoodooHDA,kext
    3. Ethernet - LAN - ???
    4. WiFi - Atheros AR5007EG -???
    5. SD card chipset - working by default
    6. Webcam ???

    Sound - Realtek - VoodooHDA,kext
remove AppleHDA.text from the /System/Library/Extensions to make VoodooHDA.kext working in this machine.

    Put VoodooHDA.kext in the /S/L/E

Do this in Terminal to properly uodate the Extensions

    sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions

    sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions

    sudo kextcache -v 1 -t -m /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions

I think just copy the boot from NetbookCD to the myhack if if it will not boot properly with the screen resolution.

Update: It seems that this method of using myhack is not working for AAO 751h at this moment. It has problems in booting. Unlike the netbookinstaller is booting.

I was hoping that I could use the existing Windows XP Home installation and partion it for the Mac OS X 10.6 without installing another Windows XP.

Now, I have to bite the bullet by installing Windows XP Home AFTER installing the Mac OS X.

    Update: NOT YET!!!!!

Still we can make use of the existing XP install using this modified OSInstall.mpkg that install in MBR.

IOPCIFamily.kext fixed for SNOW 32/64 for pci-e e.g wifi card

    http://www.kexts.com/view/101-iopcifami ... 32-64.html

I don't know yet if this will work. It works before in my toshiba u400 for all pci-e in the machine.

Update: IOPCIFamily, kext is already in system but needs to find right info for wifi card - Atheros wifi.

It need to recognise first the pci-e card in IOPCIFamily.kext before in can be found in the

    IO80211Family.kext

    http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofive ... 62884.html

IO80211Family.kext is loading in the extension. It needs just to see the card in IOPCIFamily.kext

I am fine tuning the machine now - just to the time being until I can find a solution to MBR dual booting.

Right now, it is still GUID using sata to usb converter for external HD. I managed to put the external HD to internal slot and put AppleIntelPATAII.kext to recognise the HD.

Solution for dual booting MBR is just in my nose. Sorry I did read the posting thoroughly.

    The secret here is

    pre-modified OSInstall.mpkg Mbr

    http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/general ... t-mac.html

    Copied from the above:

    ....
Create modified OSInstall.mpkg or download one from myhack
    http://osx86.sojugarden.com/downloads/#osinstall
    OSInstall MBR MOD:

NOTE: You do not need this if you are using the myHack Installer.

These two files are required for installation of OS X 10.6 on MBR partitioned disks.

    OSInstall.mpkg

OSInstall.mpkg modified to enable installation on MBR partitioned disks. – Replace /System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg with this file.

    OSInstall

OSInstall framework modified to enable installation on MBR partitioned disks. – Replace /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Install.framework/Frameworks/OSInstall.framework/Versions/A/OSInstall with this file.

    Then

    1. Open terminal and type: "defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES"
    2. Restart finder by holding the option key and right clicking (or click and hold the left mouse button) the finder icon in the dock. Select "Restart Finder".
    3. Create a folder "OSInstall" on your desktop
    4. From your Disk image, copy the file /system/installation/packages/OSInstall.mpkg to the folder you just created.
    5. In terminal, type "cd ~/desktop/OSInstall" and then "xar -x -f ./OSInstall.mpkg"
    6. Move the file OSInstall.mpkg out of your OSInstall folder and back onto the desktop.
    7. Open the file in your OSInstall folder "Distribution" in textedit.
    8. Delete the line "eraseOptionAvailable='true'" (it's near the beginning)
    9. Save and close the file.
    10. In terminal, make sure you are in your OSInstall folder and type:
    "xar -c -f OSInstall.mpkg *"
    11. This creates a new OSInstall.mpkg in the folder on the desktop. The old OSInstall.mpkg file will be on the desktop. Trash it now.
11.From your Disk image, delete the file /system/installation/packages/OSInstall.mpkg
    12. Copy the OSInstall.mpkg we created in 11 to this folder.
    13. In terminal type: "defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles NO"
    14. Restart finder & eject the USB disk.

Dual booting Window 7 - Problem - No related to the original Ao751h OS.

Windows 7 is install already, then Mac OS X.

    bootsect.exe /ScanOs

First figure out the partition where your Windows 7 installation. This makes a difference, you fail or achieve retrieving your Mbr and booting it.

    D:

    or

    C:

"bootsect.exe /nt60 C:" (default position of your Windows partition is C:/).
    After that, type
    bootrec.exe /FixMbr
    bootrec.exe /FixBoot
    bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd

    Not working.

    I am trying this MbrWizard.

    http://firesage.com/mbrwizard.php

    Mbrwizard CLI is free.

/BootMenu is good tool to get your Windows 7 booting in C:/Windows

Edit from the previous posting: passwd root, passwrd root
