    Hello all,

I have an AO722-0825 and am considering swapping the installed HDD for a SDD. Does anyone have experience doing this?

My reason for doing so is that I travel a lot with this laptop and work in harsh environments with lots of bumping and vibration. I understand that SSDs will tolerate this better than HDDs.

My present concerns (I may have others as I learn more) are:
    - Physical size of the present HDD. It has to fit in this tiny case
    - Connector style, some AOs use a Ziff connector
    - Win 7 license. I have read that major changes in hardware can render the Win 7 license invalid.
    - Any specific SSDs that won't work well with the AO722

Thank you for the link. It will surely make system migration easy.

I still am looking for info on the physical characteristics of the installed HDD. Physical size and connector style so that I purchase a workable SSD.

I would like to open the case only one time to swap drives.

Here's a quick video link [ame]

You may well be able to remove the hard drive from the housing without disconnecting the ribbon.

Care needs to be taken with the ribbon connector , note the direction, and how far the ribbon fits into the connector before removing.

    Once again, thank you!

I'm traveling for a while, I'll look into the more when I return.
