    All,

I have Windows 7 HP Professional x64. Stock, the AO721 came with 2GB of DDR3. I added a second 2GB stick (G.Skill DDR3 1333). Windows recognizes 4GB of RAM with only 1.75GB usable (same usable total as before the upgrade). BIOS and CPU-Z both report 4096MB of total RAM. Windows detects the new hardware and the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool reports no problems with the new memory. I swapped slot locations for the existing and new chips with no change. I'm running chipset drivers that came with Windows 7. My BIOS version was originally 1.07 and I reflashed with 1.06 available on Asus's support website. Still no change. All CPU meter also reports only a total of 1.75GB of RAM.

Has anyone else had this problem? Searches of this forum and the Internet in general have only uncovered some legacy Athlon64 users having similar problems a year or so ago.

Issue resolved. Replaced the G.Skill DDR3 1333 2GB chip with a DDR3 1066 chip from Mushkin. Works perfectly now.

Put your second new m G.Skill DDR3 1333 in the first bank, and put your old ram in the second bank. it means, you should exchange the location for two rams. It will work fine (1.75 - > 3.75).
