anyone use dual monitors with xinerama?

I'm trying to setup an xorg.conf file for gentoo that will do dual monitors. Has anyone here done this on their aspire one or another laptop with an i810 card? So far I have a cludge in place that lets me run on the laptop lcd or on an external with up to 1920x1200 resolution, but not both at the same time. I'll probably looking into this tomorrow when I have time.
