I also tried first installing a 2Gb Corsair one (double sided PC5300).
It would not boot, eg. screen would stay blank.

Then I went back to the computer store and I bought a 1Gb Corsair stick, which worked perfectly.
I also saw that my Aspire One already from factory had a memory in the slot(!).

Ps. I have the SSD version.. But mine was delivered with 1Gb.

Aynyhow, the 512 Mb ram that came in my Aspire one was:

    Hynix
    ----------
    Korea 08

    It is 1Rx16 PC2-5300S-555-12

I swapped it out for a Corsair double sided DDR2 Value Select 667 Mhz.
The Corsair value select 1Gb works like a charm :)

I believe the product number for my Corsair 1Gb is VS1GSDS667D2/EU G
