Anyone going to get this laptop on BF at Radio Shack?

I just went there and the manager said since there are so many Shack, there will be only one per store.

At their Black Friday website, it says that the 751H with 2 GB ram with 250 GB HD will be $249.99! I have to believe you'll have to be in line VERY early to score one at that price (they'll probably only have one or two per store.

SO, WHAT'S YOUR POINT? GIVE ME A BREAK! You want Radio Shack to give you one FREE? I paid $350 a few months ago for a 751h with a 3 CELL BATTERY, one GB of ram and the 160 GB hard drive.

IMHO, this Black Friday deal is a great deal! However, you can probably plan on spending some Midnight Oil if you want this deal.

Uhhmmm I'm just informing Predator4 and the people here that the one they're going to sell has the 3 cell battery because YOU FORGOT TO MENTION IT. DUHHH???
And I just added the model number, color (w/c is Sapphire blue) and the other specs. I think its not bad to let them know the FULL details. :?
You just read that one line you quoted from me... didn't bother to read the rest of my post?

    No offense.
Somebody here needs to take a chill pill

Just curious. What do you think the wholesale price of one of these computers is?

    Take easy. Holiday is coming!
C921 just tried to give people more details.......

Plus, I paid about $280 for a 6-cell/160G/XP 751 few weeks ago, and I will also get extra BING cash back. However, I am not happy with this junk because it freezes all the time. I suggest ACER recall AO751. Congratulations, however, if you were lucky to get a good one.

    does it really matter?
if you can pick them up normally at 299 the retail price could be 1000 and still wouldnt matter one bit.

The 751 is a great machine and I really love mine, but I'm also going to be glad to give mine to my mom, whose needs are a lot less than mine, and get myself a 1410 with a better processor & battery life.

2 hours sounds like a lot of battery, but you'd be surprised how fast it goes....

It will be nice to have the 1410's faster, more robust processor for sure.

Again, the 751 is great and I LOVE mine, but I think the 1410 will definitely be worth the extra $$$.

Plus, some of these A0751H have a problem with constant, random freezes. If you are one of the lucky owners, this is a serious problem. AND,unless you spot this problem within the first 30 days, you get to PAY for the shipping to get this model fixed.

It all boils down to how lucky do you feel?

Actually the retail price has nothing to do with my question. I was wondering what say Radio Shack has to pay for the Acers that they are selling on BF for $250? Without a profit margin, NO ONE stays in business very long. I doubt Acer's out the door factory price is much lower than $250. Then again, maybe it only costs Acer $100 to gin out a 751h. The cheaper you make them, the more likely they are to freeze up. As far as I can tell, my 751h has NEVER froze and it runs like a wiz with Win 7.

I suspect RS is going to lose money on the limited sales of the 751h on BF in hopes they will generate some foot traffic to buy something else.

    There ain't any free lunch.

Newegg will sell the AOD250-1924, Acer Aspire One 10.1" Netbook w/Intel Atom 1.60GHz Processor, 1GB Memory, 160GB Hard Drive for $189.99 on Friday for their doorbuster deals according to blackfriday.info website.

Not bad considering you will not line up out in the cold.

You'll like it even more with Win 7. Instead of installing Win 7 over Vista, I bought another 250GB HD for about $60 and swapped it out. That way I have a working copy of Windows (in my case XP) and a totally clean Win 7 installation on the new HD. After the installation, Win 7 automatically finds the correct driver for video, sound and a couple other items that I can't think of now.

Now that I know Win 7 works great on the computer, I may scrub the original HD and either sell it or use it for a external backup drive.
