    Hi guys,

I am planning to buy a Acer One as soon as the shops are open here in the Netherlands :) but I was wondering, I see the Asus EEE 701 and 901 have the abillity to install a touchscreen on it (to be ordered trough ebay or something) Is there a touchscreen "add-on" for the Acer one? or will a Asus EEE touchscreen work? anyone tried?

    Thanks!

There was nothing specifically eee about any of the eee touchscreens. They just plugged (soldered) into a USB socket.

The only compatibility issue is in respect of the size. Clearly the eee 701 touchscreens wouldn't work as they are too small but any screen the right size ought to work.

Nevertheless, if you followed the numerous posts on eeeuser.com you would know that doing this is not for the faint of heart. Unless you are a hardware hacker, you would be well advised to wait until lots of people have tried and succeeded. Quite a few people bricked their eees doing hacks like this and there is no reason that similar things won't happen to the One.

    Yup read on here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=286
Should work on the One as well, its just the question on how to calibrate it under Linux?
XP version should not be a problem as long as it all will fit in there
