im running linpus and i have removed the normal background for my own desktop background and unlocked the right click menu. ive noticed after a while of running the computer if i try to use my left alt key for anything my desktop background disappears. i still have my panel and search bar but no background and no right click.

    has anyone else experienced this?

    That's seriously wierd!

One thought: have you assigned any keyboard shortcuts? Xfce's keyboard settings shouldn't have allowed you to set just the Alt key on its own to anything, but it might be worth checking whether it's happened somehow. Perhaps also see if you've got a file called '.xmodmap' (note the full stop at the start of that name) in your home directory - again, I can't see any way of assigning just ALT to anything, but it might happen!
