Have a refurb'd aw 17" R1 that will be here in a couple days. It's being sent with a 180w power adaptor. It's supposed to take a 240w adaptor.
My question is - can I use my extra alienware 330w power adaptor, without damaging the aw 17" R1, or should I get an aw 240w adaptor for it.
I've read that the 330w won't hurt it because the laptop will only draw as much power as it needs, and I've also read that the 330w will cause it to over heat because it was made to only use 240w.
Which is right.....
