Adding Ram to Toshiba Satellite A210

Tried to add new ram to this old laptop and it doesn't seem to accept the ram . It originally had 2 1g modules and I tried to use 2 2g modules. It won't boot up with the new modules. Original ram were SyncPro DDR2 PC2 667 Cls5. Have tried HYnix or Crucial. Neither seems to work. These are used strips but I wouldn't think they are all bad.
