    Is it possible to add 2 GB ram to the Acer Aspire One 10.1" (AOD150-1165)?

    I see a memory module on the AAO page on Amazon (Crucial 2GB 667 Mhz CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory @ $19.95), but when I read the reviews, I don't notice anyone installing it on an AAO.

    Has anyone installed this Crucial 2 GB ram on their AAO? If yes, was it difficult and does it work okay?
    I presume you would have to removed the installed 1 GB ram since there is only one slot - and thereby voiding warranty.)

    Thanks for any help.

    on the 10.1, you can install a 2GB module. No warranty voiding required. Remove the bottom panel, remove installed memory, install new memory, install panel. That's it. Maybe 10 minutes if you're really all thumbs.

    If you're quick, you can do it under 1 minute or even 30 seconds.

    Many thanks.

    Is that all there is to it? The Acer Aspire One 10.1" will recognize the 2 GB and there is no re-configuration, etc., I have to do?

    Also, will that ram on the Amazon site be the correct one to buy Crucial 2GB 667 Mhz CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory @ $19.95 - http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-CT25664AC ... N0KEMNZYZS)?

    As I mentioned, I saw a lot of people were buying/using it, but there was no mention of anyone installing it on an Acer Aspire One 10.1" - only other manufacturers.

    Any kind of 2GB DDR2 SODIMM non-ECC ram you can buy nowadays works on AAO.

    Crucial is very good memory, imo, I've had nothing but great success in using their memory in our 3000+ systems and 500+ laptops at work. I also use it in my personal systems. It tends to be a bit more expensive than PNY/Kingston/Crucial and doesn't go on sale for the same low price so perhaps that is why it is not mentioned as often.

    #1- Then this Crucial will work with my AAO 10.1" ((AOD150-1165)?
    #2- How can I tell if this Crucial from Amazon is "non-ECC?"
    #3- Take out old memory and put in new memory. Is that all there is to it? The Acer Aspire One 10.1" will recognize the newly installed 2 GB and there is no re-configuration, etc., I have to do?
    #4- Goofball - what do you mean by: "No warranty voiding required?"

    Thank you

    1. Yes.
    2. It will say ECC if it is, they have to be very specific about whether it is or not. The one you are looking at is non-ECC.

    1. Technical Details

      * Configuration: 256Meg x 64
      * DDR Timings: CL=5
      * DIMM Type: Unbuffered
      * Density: 2GB
      * Error Checking: NON-ECC
      * Megabytes: 2048
      * Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300
      * Package: 200-pin SODIMM
      * Speed: DDR2-667
      * Voltage: 1.8V
    3. Yes, no reconfiguration required.
    4. On the original AAO 8.9", there was a question about whether installing memory (because of what was required in doing so) voided the warranty. On the 10.1", there is a nice panel on the bottom wihch they did intentionally to allow you to upgrade without having to dismantle the whole unit to install.
