Hi all, whenever I try to open the add/remove software from the xfce menu I get the not very helpful message "error unknown" and I can't download any software.
Any suggestions on what the cause may be? Thanks

You might try launching it from a terminal and maybe it'll display error messages as it tries to launch it?

    sudo pirut

    Cheers.

Thank you for your replay rbil. No it happens also when I launch it from the applications menu. I really don't have a clue on what could be going on.
