    Help!

My Linux Acer Aspire One fell 15" on to the carpet

Everything works OK except that I now have no internet access

    1. The Wifi on/off switch works, and lights the little lamp and brings up the Wifi ON/OFF icon in the middle of the screen
BUT the Wifi icon does not come up on the bottom line.

    2. I can get no internet access by connecting the ethernet port up to my modem

    Any ideas?

I am hoping it is just a loose connection

BTW useful instructions for climbing inside...

Opened up OK and no sign of loose connections

Managed to get it back together and (amazingly!) it turned on OK but still no WiFi

Before I opened it up I could not open 'Network Center'
    - that is still true and I see there is a very long post:
No Connection, wireless icon-gone, cannot op"network center"
    viewtopic.php?f=34&t=2620&start=0&hilit=network+center

    Maybe that is the problem....

    slogging on...

In desperation I decided to reload from DVD

    I was a little hasty...
    - first time I unplugged the DVD when the screen said 'remaining time 0 min, 0 secs' and things went badly wrong,
BUT reloading again and waiting for the DVD to eject, all is well - my WiFi is back and I am a happy chappie

THINKS: Must be more careful next time...
    - not to let my AA1 slip off the settee
    - to wait for the reload process to finish!
