Hi, I have lost the wifi capabilities. I read that I should recover the computer to factory settings. Does that sound right? If so, how should I proceed. I am lost. Thank you for your help.

I agree with @something back. I had an Acer Aspire One and I was constantly turning off the wifi by mistake. Initially, I freaked out, thinking I'd done something major, but it was really easy to fix, and so hopefully you've already discovered that, or soon will, when you read this. Hopefully the solution is that easy.
