I bought my Acer A0751h-52Bk in August 2009. A couple of weeks ago the charging light did not light and the battery went flat. I tested the charger and found it defective - no voltage, so I bought a new charger. On connecting the new charger to the computer, the computer charging light did not light and the green light on the charger started to blink so I disconnected the charger fearing it too would fail.

The computer has been tested and found to have a defective charging circuit on the main PCB. Quotes to have this replaced are in the order of £300!!!

Looking on Ebay there seem to be quite a few of these Netbooks on there for sale "for spares" with the same problem.

Is there a known problem with this PCB? How can I get some sort of help from Acer bearing in mind that the unit is only just over one year old. What is the correct address/email for contacting them?

I am a pensioner and cannot afford this sort of money - again!
