acer aspire motherboard

    hi i have an acer aspire 3690 its about two years old and it stoped working so i took it to get it checked they told me it needed a motherboard so i now have the computer that i cant use and i want to buy a motherboard for it but how do i tell what motherboard i need to buy for it i looked other places online and nothing told me everything i found said open up the laptop and get the number off it well i did last night and took down every number i found and today i typed every number into google and nothing was the motherboard all the numbers came up as being something else like the memory and cooling system so i dont know what else to do ...thanks
