Acer aspire 9810 problems

    Hello everyone, i have a acer aspire 9810 20" notebook, and it has 2 problems with it, first one is that the DVD Drive shows up ok in the bios but is not seen by windows (7 or vista) it does not show in device manager or my computer, the drive itself is known to be working ok and to be certain i tried another drive, both show life eg: trays open and led blinks.
    The second problem is related to charging. when machine boots up charging indicator moves up & down as normal, but only for about 30 seconds, then stops at bottom, when cursor is moved over indicator only 3% charge shows, machine will run all day on charger/psu so i assume that this is ok. could it be the battery itself, or could something else be causing this problem, apart from these 2 problems this is a great machine, any help would be very welcome.
