acer aspire 10.1 saying disk read error has accured?

    when i turn on my netbook you can still get into the bios page and the hard drive is still being shown on there, i cant get into the recovery mode either? it freezes when i press alt and f10. any sugestions?

    Just because the BIOS can recognize the hard drive doesn't mean that the hard drive isn't defective. Sounds like it's time to replace the hard drive. Was it making any clicking noise before you suffered your problem? Or, were you getting notification of disk errors at start up? You can remove the heard drive and test it with another computer to see if that computer can "read" it as a supplemental drive using a USB case enclosure or something similar.
