hi, can anyone help me with this one? I switch on my laptop, power's on and the Acer name comes up on the screen then a Press F2 to enter setup appears, after a while it goes away then the who sequence starts again. Can't get past that, so can't get the Desktop or anything else. My HDD seems to be a Hitachi HTS 545025B9A300. I'm hoping it's not the HDD...

    Any suggestions gratefully received

    Bill

    Hi bill

    Welcome to the forum

When you press F2 does the motherboard list the harddrive?

If it does then it looks like its just a software problem, if it's not listed then it's more
than likely to be a faulty harddrive.

You will have to use a recovery disk if you are using windows to recover the operating system.

Please list your computer operating system you are using.

Thanks for the reply, yes the hard drive details are shown when I go into setup, and I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium

You will have to recover your system settings using a dvd or a ACER erecovery using the F10 KEY
